All 3 of my rats were store bought and all died of cancerous tumors. I was wondering if this is a common way to go or if rats from a breeder are less likely to get cancer. Has this ever happened to you?
Cancer in rats is a common thing. No matter where you purchase your rats there is always a chance of them dying from tumors. I had a store bought rat and she died from a pulmonary embolism 5 weeks after giving birth to her first litter. I have 2 store bought rats now and they are over a year old and healthy as can be. I hope I helped.

I've had a few rats growing up. My 10 year old son is interested in raising a rat.
I know how awsome they are as pets and would like to get 2 females when they become availible. I live in broward county and would need to get them shiped.
If you could email with any info, I would greatly appreciate it.

We're looking to get a couple of boy rats sometime this summer, do you think you'll have any available by then? We live about an hour away from you, so we wouldn't need shipping. Thanks!

Hi! I live in Gainesville, FL. Can you ship the rats? If so, how much is it? Is it safe? I don't want to harm the baby rats. If you could, would you reply by emailing me? I'm really interested in your rats, it seems as if you are an awesome breeder!

We got our first rats one year ago. On the way home, Hershey, sneezed, and I thought she might die before the week was out...but no, we had her for a year! But she just died from Chronic Respiratory Disease, and the trip to the vet (which cost $65 with 2 medicines) didn't help. We are looking for another one or two rats for our other rat Muffin. I don't want to buy another rat from a pet store that obviously just raises them for snake feed. (We purchased them for $3). I would like our next rats to be more socialized. Is there any way to get some from you, shipped to Tallahassee, only if it's safe. Or would you recommend a breeder in Tallahassee?

Thank you, Mrs. Psalmody Ott

P.S...could you reply to me by email? I may not remember to check the Comments here on your website.

We just lost our first rat today, her name was Hershey. My son Ian is very sad. I thought you might have some kind words for him. He is so sad. We can not believe that we like rats so much. We have another rat, COco. Do you think that she will be okay without the other rat? Also, we might be interested in getting a new rat from you. But the shipping part concers us. What do you think. Thanks for any advice.
